Battersea

The Rector Major arrived at his final destination of the GBR visit later that afternoon – Battersea. Here the Rector Major met with the Provincial Council before a welcome evening meal with the community. The evening turned into Salesian entertainment and much fun was had through singing and stories. Early next morning the FMA joined the community for morning prayer and breakfast – an opportunity for him to meet the FMA provincial, Sr Connie and to speak a little Italian. After breakfast Don Ángel met with the SDB’s of the South as he had done in the North. There followed a Mass in Sacred Heart Parish were people travelled to and the locals came out to listen to Don Ángel. The Rector Major asked the congregation if they were full of Joy, the young people’s conviction ewas much louder than the adults and Salesians to the amusement of Don Ángel. The children took a most active part of the Eucharist as you will see in the photos here. After Mass once again Don Ángel spent as much time as needed to meet with each one and say a word or have a photo taken. He really did give himself to the personal approach. The head asked him to bless a photo of Don Bosco for their school during this time. He also spent a few moments with the family of Sean Devereux where he thanked them for their son’s sacrifice and said that they were very much in his prayer. Hope you enjoy the photos as a memory of this wonderful gift to GBR Salesian family, thank you
